What is a UPI QR (India) barcode?
A UPI QR code lets customers in India pay you by scanning it with any UPI app. Shops, freelancers, tutors and small businesses print it at the counter or add it to invoices. The money goes straight to the bank account linked to your UPI ID; we never handle it.
The code holds a payment link that starts with upi://pay and includes your UPI ID (pa), your name (pn) and, if you like, a fixed amount (am), currency and note. Without an amount, the payer types it in; with one, it is filled in for them. Test with a small payment before you print.
What data can UPI QR (India) hold?
A link in the form upi://pay?pa=yourname@bank&pn=YourName, with an optional amount (up to 2 decimal places), currency and note. We check the UPI ID format, that a name is present and that the amount is valid.
Recommended size
Keep a quiet zone of 4 modules around the code. Print it large enough to scan comfortably from where customers stand, and test it with a few UPI apps.
