What is a GS1 DataBar Stacked Omni Composite barcode?

This composite pairs DataBar Stacked Omnidirectional, the two-row DataBar with tall rows, with a 2D Composite Component above it. It is the most compact composite that still lets fixed checkout scanners read the GTIN from any angle.

Use it for small fresh items or products where a single-row DataBar is too wide but the GTIN still has to scan at the till. The 2D part, which carries data such as a batch or date, is read by imaging scanners when needed.

What data can GS1 DataBar Stacked Omni Composite hold?

(01) and a 14-digit GTIN for the DataBar part, then a | character, then GS1 Application Identifiers in brackets, for example (01)03612345678904|(11)990102.

Recommended size

Keep the two DataBar rows at full height so they stay omnidirectional. Leave room above for the 2D block and clear space all around.
