What is a GS1 DataBar Expanded Stacked Composite barcode?
This is the composite form of DataBar Expanded Stacked. The linear part holds GS1 Application Identifiers in several stacked rows, and a 2D Composite Component above it holds additional AIs. Together they fit a lot of GS1 data into a narrow, tall area.
It suits narrow fresh-food or product labels that need a GTIN, batch and serial or date information at once. The stacked DataBar rows remain readable at the checkout, while the 2D part is read by imaging scanners.
What data can GS1 DataBar Expanded Stacked Composite hold?
GS1 Application Identifiers for the DataBar part, then a | character, then more GS1 Application Identifiers for the 2D part, for example (01)00012345678905(10)ABCDEF|(21)12345678.
Recommended size
Expect a tall, narrow symbol. Print row separators and the 2D block sharply, keep clear space around the whole symbol and test with your scanners.
