What is a Pharmacode Two-Track barcode?

Two-track Pharmacode is the higher-capacity form of Laetus Pharmacode. Instead of thin and thick bars, it uses bars of different heights, full, top half and bottom half, so each bar carries more information.

That lets it encode numbers from 4 up to 64570080, compared with 131070 for one-track Pharmacode. Like the one-track version it is a packaging control code read by inline systems, not a product identifier for pharmacies or patients.

Use two-track only if your packaging line and readers are set up for it. If your numbers are below 131070 and your line expects one-track, Pharmacode One-Track is the simpler choice.

What data can Pharmacode Two-Track hold?

One whole number from 4 to 64570080, digits only.

Recommended size

The bars must be tall enough for the reader to tell full, upper and lower bars apart. Follow your packaging line specification and test on the real material.

Frequently Asked Questions

One-track varies bar width; two-track varies bar height. Two-track encodes much larger numbers.

The same number gives a completely different pattern, so your readers must be configured for two-track before you switch.

No. Pharmacode has no check digit, so line verification depends on reading the expected number.
