What is a HIBC LIC MicroPDF417 barcode?
HIBC LIC MicroPDF417 encodes HIBC data in MicroPDF417, a smaller relative of PDF417 with fewer columns and no full start and stop patterns on every row. It is designed for small items where a full PDF417 would be too wide.
It works best with shorter HIBC strings such as the primary data plus a lot number. Capacity is lower than full PDF417, so long secondary data may not fit in a compact size.
Choose MicroPDF417 when you want a stacked symbol on a narrow label and your scanners support it. If they do not, HIBC LIC Data Matrix gives a similar footprint and wider imager support; for more data use HIBC LIC PDF417.
What data can HIBC LIC MicroPDF417 hold?
Uppercase letters A-Z, digits 0-9 and the symbols - . space $ / + %. Enter the HIBC data without the leading + sign; the encoder adds the + flag and the modulo 43 check character.
Recommended size
Leave a quiet zone of at least one module, and more if your print process spreads ink. Because the symbol is small, check the module size against your printer's resolution and test-scan the result.
