What is a Deutsche Post Leitcode barcode?
The Deutsche Post Leitcode is a linear barcode based on Interleaved 2 of 5 that carries routing information. Its 13 data digits encode the destination postcode, a street code, the house number and a product code, followed by a check digit.
It is printed alongside the Identcode: the Leitcode tells sorting equipment where the item is going, and the Identcode identifies the item itself.
The street and product codes must follow Deutsche Post data. The generator encodes the number you supply and does not look up addresses.
What data can Deutsche Post Leitcode hold?
Digits only: 13 digits, or 14 if your number already includes the check digit. Spaces are ignored.
Recommended size
Leave a clear quiet zone on both sides and print at the height required by Deutsche Post or DHL label rules.
