What is a PIX QR (Brazil) barcode?
PIX is the instant payment system run by the Banco Central do Brasil. A PIX QR code holds a BR Code payload, based on the EMV QR code format, that payers scan in their bank app to send money to your PIX key.
The payload is a chain of ID, length and value fields. It starts with 000201, includes a merchant account field with BR.GOV.BCB.PIX and your PIX key, optional amount, country BR, merchant name and city, a transaction ID, and ends with field 63 holding a CRC16 checksum.
End your payload with 6304 and we add the 4-character CRC16 for you, or include it and we verify it. Make sure your PIX key and name are correct and test with a small payment, since the money goes straight to the account behind the key.
What data can PIX QR (Brazil) hold?
A BR Code payload starting with 000201. End it with 6304 to have the CRC16 added, or include the 4 hex characters after 6304 and we check them.
Recommended size
Keep a quiet zone of 4 modules. Print it large enough to scan from a counter or screen, and test it with a few Brazilian banking apps.
